Ezra Sylvester "Vester" Allen was the son of William Summie Allen & Mary Amanda "Poly" Camp who came to Texas from Grover, North Carolina area after his service in the Civil War. Grandpa Vester fell through a window in his house & was severely injured. He almost bled to death on route to the closest doctor & is said to have never fully recovered. He died of a "carbunckle of the left jaw" (or infection). My Aunt still lives in this same house & the infamous window is blocked by a bookcase on the inside & shelves on the outside. He is buried in Hugo Cemetery next to his wife Nancy Caroline "Callie" Nichols & his daughter Dollie Z. Allen.
