KEWANEE -- Frances Marie Swearingen, 80, of 700 E. Second St., Apt. 309, died at 6:18 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 1994, at Kewanee Hospital. Born Dec. 31, 1913, in Kewanee to Charles Leonard and Cora Pruitt Jacobs, she married Russell Dean Swearingen on Oct. 3, 1931, in Kewanee. He died June 1, 1976. Four brothers, two sisters, two granddaughters and one great- granddaughter also preceded her in death. Surviving are five sons, Russell Dean Jr. of Braidwood, Wayne of Kewanee, Donald Edward of Andover, Alvin Leroy of Chadwick and Kenneth Lebourne of Honolulu; one daughter, Mrs. John (Bonnie) Engel of Bettendorf, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Roger (Helen) VanZandbergen of Peoria, Edna Peterson of Jacksonville and Mrs. Robert (Betty) Burns of New Port Richey, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Kewanee. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cavanagh & Schueneman Funeral Home. The Rev. Barry Lovett will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to her church or the American Cancer Society.
