“John S. Whittington, 80 years old, who had been a bailiff in the Maryland Court of Appeals of Annapolis for the last 40 years, died early yesterday morning at the house of his niece, Mrs. J. O. Caulk, 7 East Pleasant street. Mr. Whittington, who retired only two weeks ago from his position as bailiff, was known to practically every member of the legal profession of the state. He had been complaining since early summer, but not until five days ago did he become seriously affected.
“The body will be kept at Mrs. Caulk’s home until tomorrow, when it will be shipped to Annapolis. Funeral services will take place at St. Ann’s Protestant Episcopal Church of that city at 2 P. M.
