Rodney Neal was born on Dec. 24, 1965 in Galesburg, IL, the son of Carl E. and Donna K. Duke Peters. He is survived by his mother, Donna Peters of Galesburg, IL; 2 brothers: Randy Peters of Katy, TX and Vincent Peters of Clinton, IL along with several nephews and nieces; and a host of loving friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl E. Peters on May 24, 2007 and his very best friend and companion, Molly his cat.
Rodney Neal graduated from Galesburg High School in 1984, attended Illinois State University and graduated from the University of Houston Hilton College of Hotel & Restaurant Management in 1989. Rodney worked in the restaurant and catering industry for many years in Houston. He worked for Bennigan's, la Madeleine Restaurant and H-E-B Central Market before moving back to Galesburg in 2007. He was former owner of Chocolat du Monde, a gourmet chocolate store in the Rice Village area of Houston. He enjoyed traveling and traveled all over the world with his best friend Barb.
The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Wagner, the staff of Harbor Lights Hospice for their excellent care and support, especially to nurse Tammy and to Lacy; Heart Of Illinois HIV/AIDS Clinic and to all his many friends for their loving support and encouragement during this most difficult time.
