E. E. Buffington Dies At 81
RIDGE SPRING — Emil E. Buffington, 81, a retired salesman and Masonic leader, died Tuesday in a Columbia hospital.
Born in Udall Kan., he was a son of the late Enos and Altha Hill Buffington.
He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the executive board of the Ridge Spring Methodist Church, past master of the Hampton Lodge 134, and past commander of the American Legion Post 133.
Mr. Buffington was also a member of the Columbia Scottish Rite bodies and he was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Omar Shrine Temple in Charleston.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ruth Chapman Buffington; a son, Dr. Emil N. Buffington of Cincinnati, Ohio; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Ridge Spring Methodist Church with burial in Good Hope Lutheran Cemetery with Masonic rites.
