Mrs. Russell Patrick, 45, wife of State Rep. Patrick of Sioux County, Iowa, was killed late Saturday when the car driven by her husband struck a freight train going south to Sioux City.
Mr. Patrick suffered several broken ribs and slight brain concussion, his daughter, Norma, 13, was severely injured and still unconscious in the Haywarden hospital and his son Ronald, 9, was not seriously injured.
The accident happened at the east edge of Haywarden. Patrick claims he didn't see the freight train, according to Sioux County Sheriff Harry Dykstra of Orange City.
