NOTE:
His middle name is thought to be Mathias .. If anyone has anything that can help validate this , I will be glad to post it ..I had it on the memorial before and after talking to several persons that notified me of it not being correct I removed it. I look forward to any help regarding this :->

The listing of Haga Cemetery seems to be in error. I don't know where Haga Cem , in Independence VA is located. As time allows will see validation or how it came to be listed as burial location.

David was a veteran of the war of 1812, He enlisted on Feb 8,1815 and was discharged on March 3,1815. He served as a privite under Robert Timothy Dalton, in Va Militia , and marched from Grayson Co Va to Salem Va and was discharged there. He was paid $6.50 for the milage he walked back to Grayson Co at the courthouse where he had enlisted. His wife Sarah Bonham Haga filed for a claim for bounty land as a widow on April 23, 1854. She was 49 years of age at that time. His death date is listed on his discharge certificate. and his marriage date to Sarah Bonham.
Sarah: 5 August 1883 Received a Widow's Pension of $24. for the War of 1812 on Cert. No. 34221

-- August 1808 Received from James Parks 63 acres on Fox Creek
-- Name spelled "Heeke" in Pilgrim Reformed Church records
-- Bought farm on Fox Creek joining Owen Thomas. Valued at $50
-- Resided at Mouth of Wilson, Grayson Co. Va.
