Funeral Rites Set Saturday For Stained-Glass Artist
Funeral services will be held Saturday for Henry John Dombrink Sr., 87 who brought the art of stained-glass window making in the Bay Area 60 years ago from his native Germany. He died yesteray after a brief illness.
Mr. Dombrink was owner of H. Dombrink Co., California's oldest art glass works, which he established here in 1900. Most of the stained-glass windows in Oakland were made at his plant, now at 2416 Market St.
Active in the firm until about a year ago, he then retired leaving the management to his two sons, William and Henry Jr.
Among the many buldings enhanced by the productsof his firm are the Chapel of Peace in Children's Fairland, completed in 1958, and St. Elizabeth's Church on 34th Ave.
A resident of 1919 34th Ave., Mr. Dombrink was a member of St. Peter and Paul Benevolent Society of San Francisco and the St. Francis Benevolent Socitye of this city.
Surviving are his sons, William, Henry Jr. and Richard Dombrink, all of Oakland; daughters, Mrs. Marie Petersen, of Oakland; and Mrs Louise Berger, San Jose; a brother Wilhelm Dombrink of Germany; and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held agt 9:30 am Saturday from Clarence Cooper Mortuary, 1580 Fruitvale Ave. A Requiem Mass will be said at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth's Church, 1500 34th Ave.

A native of Germany; age 87 years. A member of the St. Peter's and Paul's Benevolent Society of San Francisco and St. Francis Benevolent Society of Oakland.
Friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services Saturday, December 3, at 9:30 a.m. from Fruitvale chapel of the Clarence N. Cooper, Mortuaries, 1580 Fruitvale Avenue, thence to St. Elizabeth's Church, 1500 34th Avenue, where a Mass of Requiem will be offered for the repose of his soul, commencing at
10 a.m. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Oakland. Recitation of the Rosary Friday at 8 p.m. (Phone KE 3-4114.) Parking are adjacent to chapel.
