Betty Jo was born January 16, 1932 in Keller, Texas. She was the fourth child born to Clarence and Stella Hunter. Betty grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. When she was sixteen years old she started to work at a local factory. King Candy Company. She married Robert Eugene Harris in 1951. This was to be a very rocky marriage for Betty and it ended in divorce sadly enough. The only thing that Betty got from the union was me. As I have said before, she was afraid of chickens and there you go, chickens on the back porch, she fell off, I was born. My birth was premature and I almost didn't make it but with the care of my beautiful grandmother and Betty, I survived. She remarried in 1960 a very nice man named Vernon Sims. This is where Dennis and Vic come into play. My brother and sister were born to this union. When they divorced, mama decided to go the single route. She never remarried. She lived with Big Mama for a while. She then found a job with a nursing home in Dallas, Texas so she moved to Dallas. Vicki and I stayed with Big Mama while my brother lived with Little Mama. We all moved to Stephenville, Texas in 1970 and Betty moved up there with us. We lived there for several years when Little Mama and my Aunt Jean decided to move back to Fort Worth in 1972. Big Mama had just passed away and I guess it was just too much. Mama worked the rest of her life in a nursing home. Little Mama passed away in 1994. I miss my Little Mama to this day. You never get over the loss of a parent...
