He was married to Sonya Ann Smiley on Aug. 8, 1954 in Bartlesville, OK. From this union, two sons were born. He was a pharmacist and owned and operated the Village Drug Store in Anderson between 1978-2000. He enlisted in the US Army after obtaining his Bachelors of Pharmacy degree in 1955 from the University of Oklahoma.
