Rites Held
At Lone Oak


Funeral services for Benjamin Edward Maddoux, retired farmer and rancher, 407 North Broadway, who died at his home Saturday following a lengthy illness, were held Sunday at 3:03(sic) p.m. at the Lone Oak Baptist church with Rev. Lynn Heard officiating.

Born April 30, 1871 at Cedartown, Georgia, Mr. Maddoux settled five miles west of Sayre in January 1901. He moved to Texas in 1913 and in 1926 returned to the Buffalo community. In 1942 he moved to Sayre.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one sister, three brothers.

Survivors include three sons, A. E. of Prescott, Arizonia, D. H. of Mayfield, L. H. of Sweetwater; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Gerry Maddoux, James W. Frazier, Howard Roger, LeRoy Allen jr., Ray Maddoux, Herb Rothenberger.

Honorary pall bearers were Ed Dollar, Ed Schwer, L. C. Weston, A. C. Atwood, Le Roy Allen, sr., Bill Burham.

Committal was in the Lone Oak cemetery with Moore Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
