Harold Eugene Howell, 72, of Hillsville, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2006 at his residence.
Mr. Howell was preceded in death by his parents, Hartzell and Hattie Howell; brothers, Ralph Howell and Robert Howell; and granddaughter, Erin Howell.
He is survived by his wife, Nadean Newman Howell, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Jerry Currin of Hillsville; son, Timothy E. Howell of Jacksonville, N.C.; brothers and sister-in-law, Raymond Howell of Arlington, Texas and Galen and Shirley Howell of Daleville, Va.; sister, Eva Basham of Draper, Va.; sister-in-law, Millie Howell of Richmond, Va.; and five grandchildren and spouse, Zeb Howell, Charles Currin, Catherine Currin, Shelia Currin and Shelly and Shannon Goad.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church at 11 a.m. with the Elder Ronald Bowman, Elder Tim McGrady, and Brother Gary McGrady officiating.
Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral services. Flowers would be appreciated; however donations may be made to the local rescue squads or to Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Roger Harmon. VaughanGuynn-McGrady Chapel in Hillsville is in charge of arrangements.
