Rexie Dingley was a carpenter. One Fall day around 1910 the Pennsylvania hunting season had opened and Rexie Dingley was walking on his usual way to the Oak Grove Grove School in Whips Cove, Brush Creek Township, Fulton County, Pa. A hunter that morning not aware that anyone else was in the vicinity. fired his shotgun at a rabbit. The shot carried a great distance and a pellet struck Rexie in the eye. As a result Rexie lost the use of one eye for the rest of his life.
