MURPHYSBORO -- Virginia Lee Jennings, 91, of Odessa, Fla., formerly of Murphysboro, died at 9:39 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, in Tarpon Springs, Fla.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in United Methodist Church in Murphysboro. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park near Murphysboro. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Arrangements are in the care of Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro.

MURPHSYBORO -- Virginia Lee Jennings, 91, of Odessa, Fla., formerly of Murphysboro, died at 9:39 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, in Tarpon Springs, Fla.

Virginia was born in Murphysboro on March 8, 1920, a daughter to the late John W. and Grace Darling (Jacobs) Johnston. She was united in marriage to Farrell Wesley Jennings in Murphysboro on May 4, 1940. He preceded her in death in 1999.

Virginia was a member of the United Methodist Church in Murphysboro.

Virginia and her husband had formerly owned and operated Acme Laundry and Dry Cleaners in Murphys-boro for many years.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, in United Methodist Church in Murphysboro, with Pastor Larry Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park near Murphysboro. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, at the church.

Memorials are encouraged and may be made to the United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are in care of Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro.

Survivors include one daughter, Diane Jennings of Odessa, Fla., three sons and three daughters-in-law; "Jack" Wesley Jennings of Raleigh, N.C., Richard and Maureen Jennings, Randy and Becky Jennings and Lisa Jennings, all of St. Louis; and 10 grandchildren, Brad and Blake Shelton, Justin and Taylor Jennings, Molly and Ryan Jennings, Kelsey and Logan Jennings and Doug and Bryant Jennings.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Jennings, on Nov. 1, 1997; and one sister, Harriett Roberts.
