Azro volunteered for army service during the Civil War by enlisting in the 103rd Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry, August 15, 1862, at Olmsted Township, Cuyahoga County, Ohio for a term of 3 years. Mustered into Company B, he was promoted to corporal, May 1, 1864, and mustered out at Raleigh, North Carolina June 12, 1865, at the end of the war. His name is on Panel #13 in the Cuyahoga County Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument, Public Square, Cleveland, OH. See www.soldiersandsailors for more Monument info. No pension files can be found for him. Occupation: Farmer.
