TIMOTHY HALEY IS DEAD
Pioneer of Henry County Died in Mt. Pleasant Yesterday.
Mt. Pleasant, Ia. July 3--Soon after 5 o'clock this morning a well known and aged resident of the city, Mr. Timothy Haley, passed away peacefully at his resident on South Jefferson street. The deceased gentleman was one of the pioneers of Henry county, having resided in this county for upwards of sixty years. He was born in Cork, Ireland, on February[sic] 23, 1832, and was thus in this eighty-third year. He came to this country early in life and was married in this city fifty-six years ago on the first of July. His faithful helpmate for upwards of half a century survives him. For many years Mr. Haley resided on his farm three miles south of the city, retiring and coming to Mt. Pleasant to make his home here five years ago. In addition to his widow he leaves to mourn the loss of a faithful father, four children, Mrs. J.E. Mehl of this city, Mr. Morris Haley, living on the home farm; Mr. Dennis Haley, living five miles south, and Miss Katherine Haley, who is a teacher in the public schools in Des Moines. He also leaves five grandchildren and one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Felix Haley, another son, Mr. Felix Haley having passed away nine years ago. Mr. Haley was in every sense of the word a good citizen and his family and especially his aged helpmate will have the sincere sympathy of a host of friends in this hour of trial.
The funeral services will be held from St. Alphonsus Catholic church on Sunday morning at [?] o'clock. Interment will be in St. Alphonsus cemetery.
