"Dr. W. W. Joyce died Thursday night of last week at his home in the Concord neighborhood, age 71 years. In his death Maury looses one of it's most prominent citizens, and a useful and well spent life has been brought to a close. He was a physician by profession, but gave up his practice several years ago, on account of bad health and the infirmities of old age. Deceased had been a sufferer for some time, and his death was not unexpected. He leaves surviving him a wife, to whom the deepest sympathy is extended. He had a large family connection, and admired by many friends and acquaintances.
The funeral services were conducted Saturday morning at 11 o'clock, at concord church, by Revs H. S. McBride, W. H. Beasley and and R. G. Linn, and the burial was in the cemetery of that place. The following acted as pall bearers: Drs. E. E. Collins, Hazel Padgett, E. A. Timmons and A. S. Page. Messers. Alex Hill and W. E. McKennon."
