A celebration of the life of Rex Eugene Shaw, 63, of Pitkin, LA, was Thursday, September 8, 2011, in the First Baptist Church of Pitkin, Rev. Brian Thurman officiated. Burial followed in Smyrna Cemetery in Sugartown, LA. Rex entered into eternal life Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at his residence. A native of Lake Charles, LA, Rex and his wife had retired in Pitkin over a year ago. He retired from CITGO in Sulphur, LA, where he was a lab supervisor. Rex was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman and also loved to train dogs and enjoyed carpentry. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pitkin. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather.
