Kyle Gaines, 54, of the Walkerville Community passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado, Arkansas.

He was born on May 15, 1957 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He was employed with Unit Structures for more than 34 years and married Lorri Godwin on June 22, 1996. He was a member of the Walkerville Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he was an elder, helped establish the Walkerville Volunteer Fire Department, served as constable of the Walkerville community, and was a Columbia County Sheriff's Office reserve deputy.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Edward Gaines; brother, Kent Gaines; his grandparents, Marshall Frank and Lieu (McCain) Gaines and Albert and Mita (Smith) Hughes.

Kyle is survived by his wife of 15 years, Lorri Gaines of the Walkerville

community; his mother, Jane Gaines of Magnolia; sister, Marilyn Fluharty and husband Chalmer of Overton, Nevada; two brothers, Norman Gaines and Van Gaines, both of Magnolia; six nieces and nephews, Susan Rose, Kristi Johnson, Natalie Gaines, Merrick Gaines, Trace Millican, and Jon Kent Gaines and their families; and his companion and pet "Prince."

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Suttle officiating. Burial will follow at Stewart Walkerville Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home of Magnolia. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Columbia County Sheriff Office, c/o Reserve Deputy Fund, 82 Columbia 300, Magnolia, Arkansas, 71753 or to the Walkerville Volunteer Fire Department, c/o 602 Columbia 2 West, Emerson, Arkansas 71740.

Pallbearers will be Troy Anderson, Jim Edwards, Kenny Barnett, Billy

Stevenson, Kenny Emerson and Garrett Burkhalter. Honorary pallbearers will be his great nephews, Zackary Gaines and Joseph Dauzat.
