Dewey and Marie were dear cousins of mine, who were long time residents of Knox County, Texas. He married Marie Lusk Darr in 1937. Dewey & Marie loved all children, just as they loved their own. In the late 1940s, they owned and operated a local skating rink in Knox City, for children in the area to enjoy. Into the early 1950s, they developed a traveling skating rink which they could set up, in different communities in the region. In the later 1950s, Dewey & Marie returned to farming and conducting cattle operations on the Darr family farm, west of the Brazos. Dewey and Marie were always so warm and kind to everyone they ever knew. We miss them so very much.
