U.S. Congressman. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he attended Piersol’s Academy, Geneva College, studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1894 and commenced to practice law in Beaver, Pennsylvania. In 1935, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-fourth and Seventy-fifth Congresses, serving until 1939. After his term, he was a member of board of directors of Beaver Trust Company and practiced of law. He died at age 91 in an automobile accident in Rochester, Pennsylvania.
