Abram David Burr, M.D. was born on February 3, 1883 in Charlotte, Monroe County, NY to John S. Burr & Amelia M. Loper.

On October 29, 1906 in Charlotte, NY he married Lillian Davey Rauh.

He received his Bachelors degree in 1908 and Medical degree in 1910 from the University of Michigan.

Abram was a small town country doctor, practicing in Barneveld & Trenton, NY (Oneida County) and in Newton Falls & Gouverneur, NY (St. Lawrence County).

He was the Town Health Officer for Gouverneur, Fowler & Rossie, NY (St. Lawrence County), the Gouverneur School Physician for 16 years, the St. Lawrence County Coroner from 1950-1952, President of the St. Lawrence County Medical Society, President of the E.J. Noble Hospital Medical Staff (Gouverneur, NY), Historian for the University of Michigan Class of 1910 and the Examining Physician of the Gouverneur, NY Draft Board during WWII.

He received Commendations from President's Franklin D. Roosevelt & Harry S. Truman for his work with the draft board.

He and Lillian had 5 children. Edward Loper Burr, Beatrice Lida Burr, Robert David Burr, Dorothy Maud Burr & Betty Jane Burr.

Abram died July 4, 1952 in Gouverneur, St. Lawrence County, NY from a heart attack.
