Betty Bales, 83, formerly of McAlester, OK, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at St. Francis Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. Betty was born October 31, 1927 at Red Oak, Oklahoma to Joseph and Mandie (Cline) Easley. She worked at the McAlester Hospital for over 20 years. She married Joe A. Bales on February 11, 1943 at Seminole, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 sons, Joseph Bales, Jr., Earnie Lee Bales, granddaughter, Brandi Bales, brothers Norton Conn Easley and Billy Joe Easley. Betty is survived by children, Doris Mattie McGlamery, Frank Rickey & Anna Bales, and Betty Joe Morrison & Ray Albert; 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. A graveside memorial service for Betty will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2011 at Ulan Cemetery Pavilion, Ulan Cemetery in Ulan, OK with Reverend Gerald Kerns officiating. Funeral arrangments are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester, Oklahoma.
