Leonard Beecher Worcester was the son of David Worcester and Parthenia McCoskrie. His father, David, was a traveling preacher.

Leonard married Georgia Anna Weavers 30 May 1889. Georgia was the daughter of Rev George Weavers, founder of the Tabor Faith Home, and Susannah Hill. They had the following children: Paul Weavers Worcester, Joel David Worcester, Benjamin Frederick Worcester, William Nathanial and Leonard Samuel Worcester (twins).

About 1882, George Weavers and son-in-law Leonard Worcester incorporated the Hepzibah Faith Missionary Association. For many years, Leonard, engaged in mission work, traveled in the United States, China, Japan, and India. He edited two religious papers, and was vice-president and treasurer of the Hepzibah Faith Missionary Association, which included a Missionary Training House and Orphan's Home. After the death of George Weavers in 1914, Leonard became president and filled that office until his death in 1926.

Leonard died in 1926 at the age of 92 years 10 months 3 days. Georgia died in 1930.
