Loretta Mae Bennett, 84, Peru, died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, 2011, in Dukes Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Delphi, Ind. on Nov. 2, 1926 to John Riggle Sr. and Mable (Benner) Riggle. She married William David Bennett in 1946 and he preceded her in death.
Loretta was retired. She attended the First Baptist Church in Peru.
She is survived by her daughters, Sylvia Bennett DePalma, Holiday, Fla., and Susanne Bennett McCann, Peru; his grandchildren, Tiffany Miller Elsworth and husband Nathan, and Michelle Thixton Stainton and husband Chris; her great-grandchildren, Alexander Paul Elsworth, Nicholas Patrick Elsworth and Kayla Stainton; her brother, John Riggle Jr. and wife Janet Donat Riggle, Peru; her sister, Jean Ann Riggle Bailey and husband George, Galveston. She is also survived by five special loved nieces, Terri Cotton, Sunday Hughes, Carmel Trent, Shawna Coronado and Eric Riggle.
A funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Friday at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. Third St., with the Rev. George Dinkel.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
