From the Daily Yellowstone Journal, Miles City, MT, 20 Aug 1884:

A clouded sky from which the rain fell steadily all day yesterday did not prevent many sympathizing friends from crowding the Catholic church to attend the funeral services of Mrs. C.W. Anderson.

The services were begun at 10 o'clock a.m. by Rev. Father Lindesmith, and the mourners listened attentively to the solemn requiem for the departed.

Of the sad events of life the burial of a true young wife who leaves one little darling to the tender cares of a bereaved husband whose sorrow can know no measure, is one of the saddest and on every hand by word and sign his friends and acquaintances gave evidence of their sympathy with him in his sore affliction.

His brothers of the order of Odd Fellows were present and formed a noticeably large part of the congregation. The elegant casket containing the remains, covered with rich black velvet and ornamented with gold and silver, betokened the love of one who would spare no effort at the grave of her who had been so true to him.

The pallbearers, Louis Dear, W.E. Savage, Frederick Orechel, T. Alexander, Mr. Bosworth, and C.B. Towers, removed the remains from the church to the hearse.

The funeral cortege then proceded to the cemetery where with the last rites of the church the remains were consigned to the grave and await the call of the day of resurrection.

Among the principle mourners were noticed Mr. and Mrs. Tully, the parents of the deceased lady, who also had many sympathizing words from the friends present.
