The 1910 and 1920 censuses place the family in Greenwich, Washington Co., NY. Prior to this he lived in Hadley. He used to haul bark in his wagon from Dean Mountain to the tannery in Luzerne.
He is buried in the Corinth Rural Cemetery, between 1 and 2 o'clock from the flag pole in the center of the cemetery. His brother Sampson Ellis is buried closeby.
He is listed in the Town of Hadley as a farmer in partnership with brother Stephen on lot 220 in the Gazetteer and Business Directory of Saratoga County, NY for 1871.
Cause of death was arterial scelerosis. His NYS Death certificate is #13139.
