Services for Lawrence "Shorty" Ralph Melton, Sr. will be held today at 10:30 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Melton officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Melton, 74, of Sulphur, La., died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, in his home. He was a member of Peace Pentecostal Church in Sulphur.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Melton of Sulphur; sons, Lawrence Melton, Jr. and his wife, Clarissa, of Sulphur and Larry Melton and his wife, Dianne, of Shreveport, La.; a sister, Jessi Mae Crosby of Clarke County; grandchildren, Christina Melton, Lindsey Melton, Kayla Melton, Michelle Skinner, LaShea Ougel, Larry Dewayne Melton and Chad Melton; great-grandchildren, Aria Skinner and Nathaniel Skinner.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Betty Sue Melton; brothers, Cecil Melton and "Lum" Melton; a sister, Roberta Ainsworth; his parents, Minnie Grayson Melton and John Melton.
