San Juan De La Cruz

Spanish Religious Figure and Writer. He entered in Carmelitas Order and with Santa Teresa de Jesús, trying to reform this Order. He was in jail for a time. He is remembered for his works full of mysticism. Among the are "Cántico Espiritual," "Noche Oscura," and "Llama de Amor Viva." He was made Saint about 135 years after his death. His real name was Juan de Yepes.
