Max L Chandler, 93, of Sandusky and formerly of Yale, passed away Monday, June 20, 2011 at his home. He was born on August 16, 1917 in Yale, the son of Glenn Edward and Lillian Mae (Brown) Chandler.

He married Frances Mulnyx in November 1938. She passed away in 1980. He then married Esther McLean in 1981. She passed away in 1984. Max then married Kathleen Alexander on September 22, 1984 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Max was a World War II Army veteran. He owned and operated Chandler's Market in Yale for over 30 years, retiring in 1978.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sandusky, Custer Lodge #393 F&AM, the Eastern Star #273 and the Yale V.F.W.#8594 where he was a past commander.

Mr Chandler is survived by:
...his wife, Kathleen Chandler;
...one daughter, Sandra Mize of Missouri;
...two grandsons,
......Steven Mize of San Diego, California; and
......Scott (Betzy) Mize of Missouri;
...two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Brandon;
...five step-sons;
...one step-daughter;
...seven step-grandchildren;
...two step-great-grandchildren; and
...several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Chandler.

Visitation hours were held on Saturday, June 25th at the Sandusky First Presbyterian Church.

Memorial services were held were held immediately following the visitation, Saturday, June 25, at the church. Pastor Mike Wilson and Pastor Don Wixsom, both of Sandusky, officiated.

Burial was at Elmwood Cemetery in Yale.

Memorials may be made to the Sandusky First Presbyterian Church or to United Hospice of Marlette.
