David Eugene Calvert, 61, of Poplar Bluff, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Calvert was born March 2, 1950 in Dennison, Ohio. He was of the Baptist faith, and had previously worked at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. Mr. Calvert was also a coin and gun dealer and enjoyed buying, selling and trading goods. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy; was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 6477 and was a member of the NRA. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his daughter, Leslie Calvert; mother, Deloma Calvert of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Gary Calvert of Poplar Bluff and Jack Ray Calvert of Wolfe Lake, Ill.; and a grandson.

His father, Lester Calvert preceded him in death

A graveside service with full military honors will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff with Rev. Jim Schremp officiating.
