WB Abram (1930 - 2011)

WB Abram, 81, a teacher of 35 years, passed away Friday, Sept. 2, 2011. Service: His homegoing service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 1101 Evans Ave., with the Rev. Carl Mc Elroy officiating. Interment: Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Visitation: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Johnson Family Mortuary; the family will receive guests 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church.

Mr. Abram was born in Ardmore, Okla., on March 7, 1930. He attained his bachelor's degree in 1953 from Langston University and a master's degree in 1958 from the University of North Texas. He married Bobbie Jean Heagler on Dec. 23, 1958. He was a faithful member of Mount Zion Baptist Church for over 50 years. Mr. Abram taught 35 years with the Fort Worth ISD at Kirkpatrick High School from 1955 to 1971 and Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School from 1971 until he retired.

Survivors: Children, Ronald Abram of Arlington and Michelle Hogan and her husband, Sean, of Santa Clarita, Calif.; sister, Lillian Gardner of Oklahoma City, Okla.; granddaughter, Kristen Abram of Arlington; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
