Recent Deaths
THAIN – Death Monday took another Garfield county pioneer when Charles Thain, 64, farmer residing two miles west of Waukomis, died at an Enid hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Thain came to the county when the Cherokee Strip opened and settled on the farm that he owned when he died. He was a member of the rural school board and had taken an active part in community affairs for many years.
Surviving are his widow of the home, five daughters, Doris of Birmingham, Ala.; Clara of Harther, Adelaide of Muskogee, Christina and Edna of the home; three sons, Lorenz, Carl and Harold of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Will Huff of Norman and Mrs. Tillie Webber of Bessie; and one brother, George Thain of Drummond.
