Miss Hoover Leaves Note Telling Plan
Writes That She had Been Thinking of Suicide For Weeks
A Note telling of her plans to commit suicide was left by Miss Wilma Hoover, who took her own life at the Dick Glover home Monday evening. She left the note with a friend, Miss Aileen Finn, who resides at the north end of Broadway.
The following is the content of the note written on ordinary yellow school tablet paper received by Miss Finn and which has been reported in various ways. The thought of suicide evidently had been in her mind for weeks and current school difficulties brought the decision to a climax.

Dearest Aileen:
Well as you wanted me to write I will and Please never tell no one will you. I will take as a dear friends o mine no matter what happens.
Maybe You will think it is terrible but honest Aileen I have thought of it for weeks and weeks and can't get it off my mind I wouldn't dare say anything to no one and your are the first I have ever mention it to.
But as Algebra is hard for me and Miss Heure doesn't like me any way or anyone else "very well". I might just as well do away with myself it will be easy done and maybe won't take two hours to do it. (Just take posin).
But I have all my lessons for tomorrow and all my Algebra all but my domestic but maybe it won't happen tonight. But some time soon I am sure and maybe tonight. O Aileen. Please never tell will you? So I will close.
Wilma
Never tell Please.
Passed Note At School
When she gave the note to Miss Finn Monday afternoon as they were passing from the school building, she told Miss Finn not to read it until Tuesday morning. Miss Finn decided to read it Monday night, however, and about eight o'clock read the note. She said nothing about the note that night nor the next morning until reaching school where she heard of the tragedy.
After mentioning that she had a note at home from Miss Hoover, Miss Finn was sent for it by Hiss Heuer, principal at Junior high, to whom the note was delivered.
Funeral services for Miss hoover were held at the Cookes funearl chapel this morning with the Rev. M.F. Gaffye of the St. Alphonsus church in charge. Mrs. Paul O'Connor sang and six young girls friends of Miss Hoover served as pall bearers: Vivian Lawrence, Florence Whaley, Marguerite Wilson, Evelyn Ford, Clista Millspaugh and Opal McMullen.
Members of the freshman class of the Junior high school attended the services.
Burial was at the Catholic cemetery.

Wilma's mother passed away when the daughter was only 7 years of age.
After this time she went to make her home with Mrs. Glover, her aunt, living her entire short life in the Charter Oak neighborhood. With her aunt she was a regular attendant at the Baptist church school and church, keeping her faith in Christ as her personal Saviour.
