Mt. Pleasant News, August 11, 1947:

Former Resident Dies in California

Mrs. Rose Nelson, who was a resident of this county until five years ago, passed away Saturday evening (August 9, 1947) at Richmond, California. The remains will arrive here at 2:48 Wednesday evening, and will be taken to the Cookes Funeral home. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday, and the funeral service will be held at the Catholic church Thursday morning at 9 o'clock.

She is survived by two sons, James of Vancouver, Washington, and John of Oakland, California, three daughters, Mrs. Dan Badgwell of Richmond, California, Mrs. Harold Kissinger of Morning Sun, Mrs. Marjorie Richardson of Burlington. Surviving also are two sisters, Mrs. Harry Ford of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Charles Haar? of Lone Pine, California; five brothers, George, Steve, and Andy Hoover, all of Mt. Pleasant, John and Paul Hoover, both of Hastings, Nebraska. Four grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Service for Rose Nelson

Funeral service for Rose Nelson was held at the St. Alphonsus Catholic church Thursday morning al nine o'clock (August 14, 1947). The Reverend J. J. Welsh officiated at the service.

Burial was in the St. Alphonsus cemetery with the following as pallbearers: Donald Brown, John Morrow, Wayne Ford, Wade MeWilliams, Herbert Hoover and Walter Hoover.
