Fred Eugene Fowler
— Fred Eugene Fowler, 80, of Dalton, passed away Monday, Sept. 5, 2011, at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years, Liana Fowler; father and mother, William Carl and Lillie McBrayer Fowler; brothers, William Calvin Fowler, James Howard Fowler, and sister, Gwendolyn Fowler Porter.
He was a member of the Shriners Club of Dalton.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Terry and Brinda Clayton of Dalton and Donny and Sandra Phillips of Suwanee; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Ansley Fowler of Dalton; sisters, Rachel Mullinax of Cartersville and Charlotte Crawford of Dalton; brother, Joe Fowler of Murphy, N.C.; grandchildren, Kyle and Tabitha Reece, Austin Fowler, Christopher Clayton, Blakely and Hunter Phillips; many nieces and nephews.
The funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Frances Clayton Jr. and Minister Tyler Gilreath officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be David Fowler, Carlton Fowler, Jeff Fowler, Eric Crawford, Lane Mullinax, Chris Mullinax, Danny Crawford, Randy Porter, Bobby Pierce and Lynn Hulsey.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Shriners' Children Hospital, care of Dalton Shrine Club, P.O. Box 1571, Dalton, GA 30722.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5:30 until 9 p.m.
