Obie was a tragic mass murder victim at a Basore family gathering where four relatives were fatally shot. Also killed were his father-in-law, mother-in-law and brother-in-law. The murderer then killed herself. Mrs Obie Harmon survived by hiding from the murderer, who was identified as Mrs Elinore Basore, separated wife of George Marion Brasore Jr.
