They were parents to Emily (died 3 mo old) , Louisa Jane, Emily Alice, Robert, Allen, Wirt, Everman Green, Sarah Ellen, Victoria, Leander Filmore, Mary Elizabeth, and Maria.

from History of Mason County:
Burrell Spurlock was born April 14, 1834 in Boone County VA, now W.Va. the son of Eli and Mary (Cummings) Spurlock. He wed Phebe Jane, daughter of Preston and Elizabeth (Haskins) Spears in Lincoln Co. January 7, 1857. Charles Spurlock, grandfather of Burrell was one of the earliest settlers on Mud River in which section of the county Eli (father of Burrell) was born and raised. The county was then mostly inhabited by Indians.
Mr. Spurlock was in the Civil War serving in the Federal Army in Company K 7th W.Va. Cavalry. He participated in the battle of Floyd Mountain at New River Bridge, Lynchburg, Va. fighting continuously from Lynchburg to Kanawah Valley and was discharged Aug 5, 1865.
Burrell moved to Mason County about 1870. He settled in Leon and was a farmer and owner of a sawmill. His daughter Mary Elizabeth, was one the first school teachers in Mason County. She also worked as a reporter for the Point Pleasant Register Weekly Edition and wrote the obituary for her father which follows:

Mr. Burrell Spurlock died at his home at Leon, Mason County, W.Va. on Christmas day, Dec 25th 1918. He was born April 14, 1834. Aged 84 years, 8 months, and 11 days. He was united in marriage to Jane Spears in 1857. To this union was born twelve children, six preceded him in death, six living, namely: Maria Neal of Pt. Pleasant, Louisa J. Rutherford, of Leon W. VA., Wirt Spurlock of Ashton W. Va. Allen Spurlock of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Henry Calderwood of Charleston, W.VA, Mrs. W.E. Rowley of Columbus, Ohio and W.O. Spurlock his grandson he raised as his own, of Charleston W. VA and a number of grandchildren. This was surely a sad Christmas in a sense to all the family. Btu that Christ was born on that day had brightly shone in Uncle Burrell's soul that the dark curtain had been lifted. It was a bright day for him. He spoke of his departure of joyful going. And with smiles of love called each member of the family to him and spoke of his joy in the Lord and asked them all to meet him in heaven. Such experience of Christian faith is rare. On Thursday night before his death while two of his daughters were praying for him, this fullness came. May God grant that all his family shall lead such a life their end shall be his. The funeral services were conducted at Leon by Rev. C. F. Baker. Friday afternoon and was laid to rest in Leon Cemetery to await the Resurrection morn.
