Clarence Dow, son of the late Marion and Lucy Dow, passed away at his home in Neelyville, Mo., at the age of 73 years. He was a veteran of World War I, and had served in the regular Army before enlisting in World War I. He was sent across as soon as he enlisted. When the war ended he came back to the family home.
In a few years he was married to Miss Dora Gilpin of near Neoga. To this union were born three sons and one daughter, the baby girl dying soon after birth. One son passed away several years ago, two sons survive, they are James and John of Neelyville, Mo. Mrs. Dow passed away about 26 years ago.
He leaves a twin brother, Lawrence of Mattoon and a brother, John of Mountain Home Ark.; a sister, Martha Sibrel of Toledo and a host of relatives and friends.
He united with the Methodist church in early manhood. He told a neighbor who took care of him "he wanted to go and was prepared to go."
Funeral services were held at Poplar Bluff, Mo. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord.
