Cook, Helen Alford—Age 95, of Dallas, Texas, died on October 28, 2009. She was born in Raceland [Lafourche Parish], Louisiana on March 31, 1914.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, Paul. She is survived by her daughter Sandra Cook of Dallas, and son Paul Cook and daughter-in-law, Mary Cook of North Carolina. She is also survived by her beloved granddaughter and great granddaughter, Melissa Ann Hind and Helena Grace Hind.
Helen Cook graduated from the Hotel Dieu School of Nursing in El Paso in 1940. She joined the United States Army Nurse Corp and served in World War II. Helen attained the rank of Captain. She served her country with dedication and courage.
Visitation is Saturday, October 31, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home located at 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, Texas. There will be a Graveside Service on Sunday, November 1, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
