Married Charles McGuire in Sonoma County, California in the late summer of 1855. Their families had been neighbors back in Jefferson County, Iowa so I'm guessing that might have had a lot to do with his decision to follow them to California a year after they made the long journey. A few years after her father George Washington Johnson's death they moved back to Iowa settling n Appanoose County. A quarter of a century later they followed son Rolin Elwood McGuire to Pratt County, Kansas where they lived the remainder of their lives.
