J. A. Freed (1875-1953) suffered a terrible buggy or cart accident about 1910 which I read about in Daniel Sommer's Octographic Review. Each week the reports grew worse. Finally infection set in and I was certain I would read in the next issue of the Review that had died. Instead his leg was amputated and he lived many more years. --Terry Gardner.
