Funeral services for Mrs. August Bartel, 77, were held Saturday at the Boldt Funeral Home and at the Methodist Episcopal church with the Rev. E. D. Groenig officiating. Burial was in Maple Lawn cemetery. Pallbearers were William Fisher, Herman Fisher, David Anderson, Benson Brown, Fred Voge and Henry Hanson. Minnie Brown was born in Faribault on December 20, 1870. She attended grade schools in Wells township and was married in Faribault to August Bartel on October 28, 1897. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, and died November 17, following an illness of a week.
Mrs. Bartel is survived by her husband, two sons, Irving Bartel, Seattle, and Harold Bartel, Faribault; one sister, Mrs. Lydia Rockenback, St. Paul; two brothers, Carl Brown, Marshfield, Wis., and William Brown, Faribault; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Relatives and friends from away who attended the funeral were Otto Klatt, Hammond, Ind.; Mrs. Lydia Rockenback, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Rockenback, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Nicholson, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Wagner and children, Mrs. Emma Wagner, St. Paul. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Kalien and son, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Borchert, Morristown, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Carlson and daughter, Minneapolis.
