Augustine "Gus" Anthony Giannotti, 81, of Salinas, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011, after a long battle with Leukemia. He was born February 15, 1930, in Pennsylvania.

Gus and his wife Georgia, were avid Bingo players. He loved to cook, spend time with his family, and loved going to see the SF 49ers and SF Giants play.

Gus was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Georgia May Giannotti; his daughter, Julie Ann Cabotage, and sister, Julia Rost.

Gus is survived by his son, Bill Giannotti; nephews, Jim and David; niece, Colleen "Bones"; grandchildren, Rod, Traci, Terri, Jenny, Brandon, Valerie and Anthony; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Gus was quite the character even up to the end. He was loved dearly and will be missed by everyone.

Visitation will be held today, September 7, 2011, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis St., Salinas, CA 93901.

Rosary will be held today, September 7, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., at the Struve and Laporte Chapel.

Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, September 8, 2011, at 1:30 p.m., at Madonna del Sasso Church, 22 Stone St., Salinas, CA 93901.

Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way, Salinas, CA 93907.
