Mrs. Nora L. Roberts, 88, 250 Clarktown Road, Roan Mountain, died Saturday, August 25, 2001,
at the home of a daughter, Lora Bishop, 102 Claude Simmons Road, No. 18, Johnson City,
following a brief illness. Mrs. Roberts was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late
Nat and Polly Simerly Clark. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William L. Roberts,
March 22, 1994; three sons, Earl Roberts, Paul Clark and James Roberts; a daughter, Louise Roberts; and by five brothers and two sisters,
Mrs. Roberts was a member of Sunrise Free Will Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Allen "Bill" and Betty Roberts, Augusta, Kan.,
and Alvin and Pat Roberts, Spring Grove, Ill.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Glenna Roberts
Hickman and Wayne Hickman, Roan Mountain, and Lora Roberts Bishop and Bobby Bishop #259919207,
Johnson City; and a sister, Juanita Goad #256877623, Roan Mountain. Nine grandchildren,
12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home of
