Ines Gonnella, 102, former resident of Northfield for 50 years, passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at the Covenant Village of Northbrook. Interment was held privately. In her memory, the family would suggest donations may be made to American Cancer Society , 1801 S. Meyers Rd., Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. Ines was born to Ralph and Armeda Cassettari in Chicago, on July 1, 1909. Ines will be remembered for her many years of charitable work with St. Philip the Apostle Church in Northfield, and Lutheran General Hospital in Des Plaines. She was a devoted sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always put her family and friends first in her life. Ines' family would like to thank the staff of the Covenant Village of Northfield and Hospice for the loving care they gave her the last 12 years of her life. She is survived by her dear brother, Albert Cassettari; and sister Clara, the late Rico, Aldo, George, Frank, Lea and Marie; her children, Louis (Linda) and Kenneth (Mariella); her grandchildren David (Kristin), Anthony (Jennifer), Steven, Sharon and Michelle Gonnella; great-grandchildren John, Joseph, Gianna, Casey and Genevieve Gonnella. Her husband, Louis J. Gonnella, preceded her death in 1973. Arrangements made by Adolf Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ltd., Willowbrook, IL.
