Tambra Lou Holcomb, 46, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2008, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Services were held January 2, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls, with Reggie Coe officiating and Dr. Bob McCartney assisting. Burial is in Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Tambra was born November 17, 1962, in Wichita Falls to Wallace and Peggy Lou Thornton. Raised in Wichita Falls, Tambra was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, where she also taught Sunday School for several years. Tambra was a sustaining member of the Junior League.

Tambra was beautiful, with grace and charm. As a young girl, she competed in beauty pageants and rodeos, winning numerous awards and crowns. She had worked as a runway model, contracted with the Kim Dawson Modeling Agency in Dallas. Tambra lived life to its fullest and portrayed elegance, class and dignity in everything she did.

Tambra's passion has always been horses. She competed professionally as a barrel racer for many years. She owned and operated Turtle Creek Stables in Wichita Falls. But she will mostly be remembered as a dedicated wife and mother. Her greatest commitment was helping her kids to reach for their dreams.

Tambra was preceded in death by her parents; and by her sister, Walletta Thornton; and her brother, Randy Thornton.

Survivors include her husband, Tom Holcomb of Wichita Falls; two daughters, Loudell Crumpler and Peggy Mae Holcomb; two sisters, Elaine Thomason and husband Brett of Arlington, Texas, Sharon Spruiell and husband Wes of Sanger, Texas; one brother, Kenny Thornton and wife Vicki of Archer City, Texas; one aunt, Joyce Davis and husband Travis of Marlin, Texas; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls.
