LaDONNA JEAN THOMAS LaDonna Jean Thomas, 79, of Lexington, MO passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Lexington Care Center. LaDonna Jean Steele Thomas was born July 17, 1926 in Omaha, NE, the daughter of Jesse Everett and Rena Wave Powers Steele. Her family moved to Kansas City in 1941 where she attended and graduated from Manual High and Vocational School. She attended Graceland College in Lamoni, IA for a year. She married Henry James Thomas on May 16, 1948 in Platte City, MO. She and Henry moved to Lexington in 1952. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Community of Christ Church. LaDonna was a 15 year volunteer with OATS and was the 2002 volunteer of the year. LaDonna is survived by two sons: Jim Thomas and wife, Shari, of Lexington and Byron Thomas and wife, Lori, of Lee's Summit, MO. Two grandchildren, Christopher Daniel, and Keely Marie Thomas. One brother, Duane Otis Steele and wife, Carol, of Lee's Summit, MO. One sister-in-law, Olga Ruby Restrepo Steele, Neiva Huila, Columbia, South America. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Henry, on September 28, 1991, and a brother, Max Trebor Steele. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 3, 2006 at WalkerNadler-Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington. Burial in Lexington Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to service. The family requests that in Lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society, C.A.R. (Cancer Assistance Relief) or the Community of Christ Church.
