Will Cressy and his wife Blanche Dayne were successful vaudeville actors and playwrights. In their hey-day, they were among the best paid actors in America. In 1895, they built a cottage called Weirinnett on Echo Point, south of Blodgetts Landing at Lake Sunapee, known today as Cressy Point, where he was a much loved part of the community. For the National War Work Council, Will headed to France in 1918 to entertain the troops and was badly gassed and never recovered.
