Ref: Burnett Genealogy – Stephen A. Burnett attended school in Vienna Twp. After he and Jerusha were married, he leased a farm in Vienna for one year. He later was an engineer in a coal mine in Trumbull Co. for about four years. He was in the huxter (sales) business for the next eight years. After this time, he bought a farm near Vienna consisting of sixty-seven acres to do some farming. Stephen and Jerusha were members of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Among the local positions held by Stephen were school director and supervisor.

Burnett, regret to learn of his death, which occurred at his home at 104 Dickey Ave., Sunday evening at 8:30, following a period of ill health covering several years. Heart trouble and complications are given as the cause of death. Mr. Burnett was born in Vienna on August 19, 1859, and spent all of his life there until 1917, when the family moved to Warren. He was a life long member of the Methodist Church of Vienna, and was a man of fine qualities of manhood and was a devoted husband and father in his home. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jerusia Burnett, one daughter, Mrs. Edward Chilson, Warren; two grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. P. L. Tyrrell, Leavittsburg; Mrs. Mary Turner, Brazil, Indiana; Mrs. Ada Wellsby, who resided with her brother and his wife; and two brothers, Ralph Burnett, Alberta, Canada; Ivan Burnett, Vienna.

The funeral services will be private and will be held at the home on Dickey Ave., Wednesday at 1:30. Burial will be made in the Vienna Cemetery. Friends desiring to call will be welcomed from noon on Tuesday until noon on Wednesday. Owing to the illness of Mr. Burnett, his brother, Ralph Burnett, of Alberta, Canada, came two weeks ago to visit him, and started on his homeward journey on Sunday morning, when Mr. Burnett was feeling very much better. Note – Mr. Burnett was buried in Center Cem., Vienna, OH. His gravestone states that he was born in 1858 and died in 1925. His wife's name was Jerusha and not Jerusia.

Services were in charge of Rev. Brown. Mrs. Wilson sang. The pallbearers were Sterling Powell, Samuel Hoffman, John Mohler, Guy Robison, William Matz, Chester McFarland. Burial took place at Vienna.
